Everyone needs to pay their for share of taxes but no one should pay more than that.
Northern Colorado Property Owners, you should have received, or will be receiving, your 2015 Property Valuation in the mail. This value is used to determine the amount of property taxes you will owe in 2016 and 2017. These taxes are used to fund county services, fire protection, city services, the school district etc. etc. If you are confused about this process or concerned about the value that the County is putting on your home please contact us. We will look into it to, free of charge, to see if their valuation is valid. If you would like to challenge the valuation we can help you by providing the necessary information. Keep in mind the following;
- due to the economy and market conditions most values will be higher
- properties are valued based on their condition as of January 1, 2015
- the property is valued as of June 30, 2014
- the protest period runs from May 1st through June 1st
